Payment for Non Compulsory Meeting Attendance
The Employee acknowledges that attendance at any training session or meeting that is voluntary and not a requirement of their employment is not subject to the minimum engagement period of four (4) hours.
Where the Employee elects to attend such voluntary training or meetings, they will only be paid for the actual time attended, and the four-hour minimum engagement entitlement will not apply. The payment will be the employee’s ordinary hourly rate excluding penalty rates.
For example: Sam is not rostered to work on Tuesday, but logs into a committee meeting over Zoom for one hour and 15 minutes. They are entitled to be paid for an 1.25hrs of Base Rate, Casual Loading, Furniture Carters Allowance and Tenure. They send an email to managers@mwav.org with their details and the time they were present during the meeting.
