Stopping on the way to the first job
All movers need to make sure that they are at the depot by their allocated start time, and that they depart the depot in a timely fashion.
It is company policy that movers cannot stop on the way to the first job, but must go directly to the pick-up address.
This is because it is very important to reach the first job of the day on time, as not doing so can have a roll-on effect for the rest of the day, affecting later customers.
This is the case regardless of whether:
You speak with the first customer in advance and they would prefer to start later (they have a scheduled start time they've already agreed with MWAV when making the booking)
You are running late to the first job anyway, due to traffic or some other reason (the sooner we start, the better, for scheduling reasons)
You really want a coffee/snack (it's reasonably expected that movers come to work ready to go direct to the first job, having had breakfast/coffee by the start time)
MWAV has a break system which allows for breaks at any other time of the day, as long as they are correctly logged in the app.
If you must stop to have a break on the way to your first job, and you believe there are mitigating circumstances that should allow for this, please call the office at the time to discuss.
Violating this policy may result in disciplinary action.
