Replacing a side mirror - Canter Edition
Tools and equipment needed:
Appropriate socket (13mm for Fuso parts, pic 2) or phillips (#3 for aftermarket, pic 3) depending on replacement mirror fitting.
Replacement mirror from spares shelves.
Remove the damaged mirror using the appropriate tool. There may be a plastic cover over the nut that will have to be taken off first
If there is a wire leading into the casing you will need to remove the front mirror section from the casing. This can be done by using a small flathead screwdriver to push in the tabs in the small holes on the side of the mirror casing and separating the two parts..
Unplug the wires if required. If the new unit is heated you will need to thread in and connect the wiring as per the old unit.
Check the U-shaped bracket on the mirror. If it’s in good shape you can attach the new unit to the old bracket. If not, replace with a new bracket.
Line up the mirror body with the holes in the bracket and secure the new mirror to the bracket.
