• Cranbourne: safety reported as good.

Policy working groups updates:

Diversity & Inclusion Committee Report

• Clarification on last meeting’s timing: committee had met after previous OHS meeting.

• Draft policy on discrimination/harassment reviewed and voted through.

Key Policy Points:

• Covers discriminatory/unsafe customer or public behaviour.

• Examples: derogatory remarks, stereotyping, sexist comments, unwanted contact, slurs, threatening language, inappropriate media.

• Staff empowered to respond (e.g., disengage, swap roles, leave job, escalate).

• Reporting encouraged, even for low-grade repeated incidents.

• Psychological safety = physical safety. Psychosocial injuries treated the same as physical ones.

• Follow-up required within 24 hours of incident, even on weekends (morning manager must notify higher management).

• Ongoing manager training and consistency of response flagged as necessary.

• Policy passed in principle, with further refinement on manager training/checklist to be developed in next meeting.

Fridge up stairs

• Shoulder dolly: found unsafe and restrictive.

• Blue assisted trolley lift: effective in trials.

• Blanket-and-strap method: safer, protects property and movers.

Marble tables: 

• Proposal for weight-calculation system for office staff and a standardised decision matrix.

• Suggestion for custom-built A-frame trolley with six wheels for better manoeuvrability and safety.

• Idea to integrate equipment/matrix logic into booking database for automatic job prompts.

Fatigue Management

• Adjustments to training content allowed and supported.

• First aid training completed.

• Start time confirmation texts working well.

• Training video submissions: good effort, but need corrections and clearer guidelines (e.g., landscape orientation) 

• Trolley hanging: banned due to head injuries and equipment damage. To be included in safety slides.

• Safety shoes: reinforced as mandatory; critical for injury prevention and safer handling.

• Cranbourne staff flagged for dynamic risk assessment training.
