Discussed developing the next Safe Manual Handling Seminar. Sam HG and Kenzie to run it.
Matt met with Sam and Kenzie on 13/2 and have developed the seminar. Seminar to be held on Tuesday 25/2
Matt spoke with Claire from Alba Ergonomics on 18/2. Claire and Dave Hall (Alba facilitator) will send through a proposal for a review audit of our policies and training around manual handling.
We discussed Alba Ergo getting in contact with LaTrobe uni who have developed a manual handling system called APIRM -They will contact LaTrobe to see if they have a student who can potentially do a pilot review using APHIRM. Clear policy needed for lifting from heights:
No balcony lifts or lifts from heights over 2 meters.
Avoid language that allows exceptions.
Ensure movers are not pressured into unsafe lifting tasks.
Customers to be informed clearly to prevent disputes on-site.

High-visibility vests should be more accessible and used when working near roadways.

Issue with scaffolding storage: Big red chalk board needs to be moved or disposed of.
Safe vehicle entry/exit concerns:
Using the correct door to avoid hazards.
Preventing blocked driveways when inflating bike tires.
Potential solution: Adding valve adapters for the bike pump area.
Concerns about exiting driveways safely when using air compressors.
Temporary solution: Using cones to block driveways during use.
Storage space issues: Need for better organization to avoid clutter.
